Then the Words

In the age when kings ruled by iron and the people wandered like flocks without direction, the world grew heavy with confusion.

The earth cried out for guidance.

And so the heavens watched.

Among the stars stood the ancient watcher Boötes, whom the old sages called the Plowman — the guardian who carries both the spear of justice and the scythe of harvest.

From his high path among the stars he looked upon the earth and saw that three shepherds had risen among the people.

Each claimed to guide the flock.

But none truly cared for them.

The First Shepherd

The first shepherd ruled through fear.

He told the people that danger was everywhere, and that only his power could protect them.

So the people followed him with trembling hearts.

Yet the more they followed, the smaller their courage became.

The Plowman looked down and said:

“A shepherd who feeds on fear will one day devour his own flock.”

The Second Shepherd

The second shepherd ruled through greed.

He promised wealth, comfort, and endless abundance.

But the fields were neglected and the rivers were poisoned.

And though the shepherd grew rich, the flock grew weaker.

The Plowman whispered to the winds:

“A shepherd who harvests without planting will one day reap emptiness.”

The Third Shepherd

The third shepherd ruled through pride.

He spoke beautiful words and claimed wisdom greater than all others.

But he listened to no voice except his own.

Soon the flock no longer recognized truth from illusion.

And the earth itself grew weary.

The Plowman raised his spear toward the sky.

The Month of Judgment

The ancient prophecy says that within a single turning of the moon — one month — the power of the three false shepherds collapsed.

Their voices faded.

Their flocks scattered.

Not because the Plowman struck them down directly.

But because the people began to see.

And once the truth was seen, the false shepherds could no longer stand.

Thus the words were spoken:

“Three shepherds were removed in one month,
for neither the shepherds loved the flock,
nor the flock trusted the shepherds.”

The Wolves Who Watched

In the deep forests of the earth stood the Twin Crowned Wolves, guardians of balance between shadow and light.

They had watched the rise and fall of many leaders.

When the three shepherds disappeared, the white wolf said:

“Will new shepherds rise?”

The dark wolf answered:

“They always do.”

Then both wolves looked toward the stars where the Plowman walked.

And the wind carried his final message across the world:

“The world does not need rulers who claim the flock.

It needs guardians who serve the life of the field.”

The Seed of a New Age

The story ends with a quiet hope.

For when false shepherds fall, the earth has a chance to breathe again.

The fields can be replanted.

The rivers can be healed.

And somewhere among the people, a true shepherd may arise — one who walks beside the flock instead of ruling above it.

And when that shepherd comes, the old watchers say:

Even the wolves will bow their crowned heads.

The greatest art is the art of living.

The greatest treasure is the transformed self.

And the greatest love is the love of being.
